Kayla Clark King
About Kayla:
I am an American actor currently based in Melbourne with a BFA from Syracuse University. I began my career in New York City where I leaned heavily into my acting training through consistent courses and workshops with esteemed professionals all over the world.
A career highlight was originating the role of Yvette Berry in Beaufield Berry’s “In The Upper Room” at the Denver Center for Performing Arts. This project brought out my most authentic performance to date and I hope to continue to explore “slice of life” storytelling. I’m passionate about creating work that feels modern and relatable, primarily for those who don’t often relate to the media put in front of them.
I have been lucky to find incredible collaborators outside of the United States after I took some time to travel in New Zealand and Australia. Melbourne has been an inspiring place to experience art and culture in film, theatre, visual art, and design. It’s the perfect place to continue to develop my artistic practice and meet innovative artistic thinkers to tell unique and original stories.
